Your resume — from a duty list to an evidence document
The problem
Your resume says 'Responsible for monthly MIS reporting and vendor reconciliation.' So does every other accounts executive applying. Nothing distinguishes you, and the shortlist is made on nothing meaningful. Meanwhile the thing you actually did — cutting month-end close from twelve days to five — is not on the page because you had forgotten it was unusual.
What you need
Role: Accounts Executive, mid-size manufacturer, 3 years. Interview answers: 'When I joined, month-end close took about 12 days because nobody had reconciled the marketplace settlements for four months.

What comes back

Verify before you use it
- Every number must be defensible in an interview. If you cannot explain how you arrived at ₹3 lakh, either find the documentation or soften the claim.
- Check that no bullet has become more impressive than the truth. 'Rebuilt the process' is accurate; 'transformed the finance function' would not be.
- Read the bullets aloud. If they sound like a job description, they are still duty statements.
- Confirm the formatting is single-column plain text. Many Indian employers screen through systems that mangle anything else.
