Business planning — a plan you can defend to a bank

The problem

You need a term loan. You ask AI for a business plan, get twelve well-structured pages, and submit it. The credit officer asks where the ₹42 per litre procurement rate came from.

The workflow
1Decompose the plan
2Gather real evidence
3Build unit economics
4Model financials in Excel
5Write assumptions page
6Draft sections
7Adversarial review
Submit

What you need

Purpose: bank term loan, ₹85 lakh, dairy processing unit, Nashik. Have: land owned, two supplier tie-ups (verbal), machinery quote, five years of trading history in a related business.

The tool

Any assistant with the chain prompt

The prompt

Subscribers. The full prompt is part of the SMEMinds AI Playbook. See plans.

What comes back

2. EVIDENCE AUDIT (extract) Market section — Local demand for paneer in Nashik region: [I MUST GET IT] — a physical survey of 20 retailers, not a market report.

Verify before you use it

Human review required. Check every line below before this leaves your screen.
  • Get the milk rate in writing. A verbal tie-up is not evidence, and it is the number the whole plan rests on.
  • The supplier payment-terms point is the one most first-time dairy operators miss. Daily payment against monthly retailer credit is a working capital gap that can sink an otherwise sound plan.
  • Do the physical retailer survey. Twenty conversations produce better evidence than any report, and you can name them in the plan.
  • Note the advice to remove sections. A shorter plan with sourced numbers is stronger than a comprehensive one with invented ones.
