Three-minute lead research brief
Two hundred leads a month from Indiamart, a trade show and your website.
Research this company for a sales conversation. Use web search and give me a source link for every factual claim. Company: [name] Website: [url if known] City / state: [if known] How they came to us: [enquiry form / trade show / referral / cold list] What they said in the enquiry, verbatim: [paste it] What I sell: [describe] Who I sell to: [the buyer profile] Give me: 1. WHAT THEY DO - one line, from their own website 2. SIZE SIGNALS - anything public: locations, team size, product range, distribution footprint. Source each. 3. RECENT ACTIVITY - anything from the last 12 months. Source it. 4. WHY WE MIGHT MATTER - the specific reason my product could be relevant to THIS company, based on what you found 5. THE HOOK - one specific, verifiable thing I can reference in my first line that shows I looked them up. It must be something I could show them the source for. 6. WHAT I STILL NEED TO ASK - the 3 questions that would qualify or disqualify them CRITICAL RULES: - Every factual claim needs an openable source link. - If you cannot find something, write "not found" - do NOT infer it. An invented turnover figure or client name in my first message destroys credibility permanently. - Clearly separate [FOUND - source] from [INFERRED - reasoning]. - The HOOK must come from the FOUND list only.
The hook coming only from sourced facts is the rule that makes this safe. Everything else can be inference; the hook cannot.
Before you rely on the answer
- Open the LinkedIn post before referencing it. If it is six months old rather than two, the hook lands differently.
- Note that turnover was NOT FOUND and was not inferred. Referencing an invented turnover figure would have ended the conversation.
- Item 4 is explicitly inference. Do not present it to the prospect as though you know they have a stock visibility problem — ask.
- Three UNKNOWNs after a first pass is correct. Resist the urge to fill them in from the website.
