- Write the returns section first, including the three cases your team gets wrong. That is two pages and it addresses your actual problem.
- Resist copying prices into the knowledge base. A pointer to the live rate card is correct; a copy will go stale and be trusted.
- Give ownership to the person who uses it most, not the most senior person. They notice staleness first.
- Test it: give the returns section to someone new and ask them to answer three real customer questions. What they get wrong is what is missing.
